23 Restaurants Giving FREE Meals/Discounts for Birthday Clubs!

Hat tip to CNN for passing on this tip, but it totally makes sense!  Birthday clubs! We occasionally eat at Red Robin and other national chain restaurants that offer a free meal on your birthday to entice you to come back, buy drinks or whatever.  You get a note in the mail or email to come in for a FREE or Discounted Meal, pop in and eat.  But by signing up for the birthday clubs for restaurants in your area and putting in different dates across various months (OK, you’re lying, but the whole point is getting you in the restaurant, I don’t think they care when your actual birthday is!), you could easily eat out for free or at a major discount a few times per month the whole year ’round.  Taking this to an absurd level, I suppose you could be an imposter and submit multiple names and email accounts if you REALLY love a particular restaurant.

With our 3 kids, it’s tougher (and more expensive) to eat out as much as we used to, but for singles and younger/older couples without the young kids around, this is an awesome strategy!  For us, the free meal at least pays for the babysitter though if we want to justify it that way!

Here’s a list of restaurants that offer free or discounted meals/desserts of some sort for your birthday:

  • Ruby Tuesday
  • Red Robin
  • Red Lobster
  • The Melting Pot
  • Krispy Kreme
  • Sonic
  • Houlihan’s
  • California Pizza Kitchen
  • Baskin Robbins
  • Boston Market
  • Burger King
  • Champps
  • Cold Stone Creamery
  • Friendly’s
  • Fuddruckers
  • Hard Rock Cafe
  • IHOP
  • Macaroni Grill
  • Outback
  • PF Changs
  • Starbucks
  • TGI Fridays
  • Uno’s Chicago Grill

These are just some popular restaurants I’m familiar with and have eaten at personally (that explains a lot :>).  I’m sure there are some local ones in your area that do that same!  For many of these, you can just sign up through their website and don’t even need to go in physically to do so!  I just hit Red Robin online myself!  I love those huge burgers.

Let me know which restaurants you use that offer birthday club meals and discounts!  If you enjoyed this article, make sure to check out the DEALS section for more money-saving opportunities!

Just a note about putting in different dates for your birthday: many restaurants ask to see your ID before giving you the discount/free item.

That picture goes to show that there’s nothing like getting a free plateful of 2000 calories and tons of cholesterol!

OK, make smart choice and free can be really good. Thanks for sharing!
