Your fiancée returned the engagement ring you bought without an acceptable reason. You found out that your boyfriend is cheating on you with your cousin. He lacks career ambition so you decided to cut it off. No matter what the scenario is, break-ups are always bad. Admit it! But it doesn’t mean you should look the same too. So after all the ugly crying, wipe off those tears and start slaying. Don’t want to break the bank? Fret no more, we got you. Here are some ways on how to look good after a break-up without spending a fortune.

  1. HAVE AN EYE OF EYEWEAR

Put on your favorite shades. Voila! You can instantly look fun, hip and stylish while concealing your puffy, sad eyes at the same time. If you want to be buy a new one though, make sure that your shades’ frame suits your face shape. For those with round faces, the most suited shades to wear are rectangle framed ones. Square-faced individuals should opt for oval and round frames to neutralize the edges of their faces, while narrow frames works best for heart-shaped faces. Oval faces are the luckiest though, because most frames would suit them well.

  1. HEALTHY SKIN IS ALWAYS IN

Due to the emotional stress break-ups bring, break-outs can occur.  It is unfortunate to have two “bad breaks” at the same. And when it does happen, do not pop your pimples and let a professional do the job, by providing an acne treatment using Intense Pulsed Light (IPL)

If you find it expensive, you can try out DIY face masks written below.

  1. Oatmeal Honey Facial Mask

Mix one serving of cooked oatmeal with two tablespoons of pure honey. When the mixture cooled down, apply it gently to face. Leave it for 15 minutes and rinse off after.

  1. Egg White Mask

Whisk the egg whites until fluffy. Apply to face in even layers. Leave it for 30 minutes and rinse off after.

  1. Honey and Cinnamon Mask

Mix 2 tablespoons of honey and 1 teaspoon of cinnamon together until they have formed a paste-like mixture. Apply the mask to your face. Leave on for 10-15 minutes and rinse off after.

You can also take care of your skin by getting enough sleep and drinking at least 2-4 liters of water a day.

  1. SWEAT THE SADNESS OUT

Instead of wallowing in your bed, start your journey to fitness. When you work out, your body releases endorphins or “happy hormones.” Endorphins combat stress and reduce your threshold for pain. Consequently, it lifts up your overall mood. No gym? No problem! There are a lot of free exercises on Youtube. Accounts like Fitness Blender and XHIT Daily demonstrate cardiovascular, strengthening, stretching and yoga exercises in all difficultly levels. In addition, workout apps like Sworkit, Skimble, Fitocracy and Charity Miles can be downloaded via iOS and Android. Remember, a fit body is a good revenge.

  1. PRACTICE GOOD POSTURE

Break-ups, especially which are caused by infidelity can lower self-esteem. Those who were cheated on might feel something is lacking in them. With that being said, one can combat low self-esteem by practicing good posture. Make sure to always hold your head high. Avoid looking down, especially when having a conversation. Next, keep shoulders and back in a relaxing position. Do not slouch. Lastly, your weight must be distributed evenly on both feet. Posture is a non-verbal communicating how you feel about yourself. Thus, good posture embodies the right level of self-esteem.

  1. GET AWAY WITH ILL-FITING CLOTHES AND SHOES

Ill-fitting clothes and shoes can be your worst enemies in two departments: comfort and style. And no one wants that, especially when you are emotionally struggling. Get away with those by arranging a garage sale [easy way to earn extra], donating it to charity or merely giving it away. Another option: If those were given by your former beau, return it.
